Nursing colleges in India

The God is living in human being only. The life and the body is the first two temple of his living. Love human being, care them and this is the language of all religions. Nursing is a profession teaches us to love people. It is a profession of health care. Up to 1960 only male person gets the facility of nursing from the Govt. side but after 1975 it allowed for all ales, females and children’s.  It is one of the honorable professions in our society. In this profession care given to the patients and it needs a lot of patience. In this profession people get loved beyond all religion, caste and nationality certificate. A patient treated as a human being only.

It is a profession of opportunities. Govt. hospitals, private hospitals, personal health care, nursing homes need lot of nursing stuffs. They are well paid employees with all the living opportunities in the city as the health care departments located in city area.


The history tells us about nightingale era schools which were the older version of nursing schools. The scenario changed and the schools were started controlling by the hospitals. In beginning days they prefer the written nursing course only but now days the practice work also given attention with the written part.


Coming on nursing admission and the admission procedures in this profession. We also giving the attention to the nursing courses held in our country. First of all the one will come, B.Sc (nursing) which offers under graduation and post graduation. Under graduation needs a higher secondary degree with 45% of marks in PCB group. It is a four years bachelor degree course which is given by the university.
The post graduation in nursing requires the graduation degree with 50% marks. Along with the regular degree it offers distance degree in post graduation. In distance learning nursing course it require an addition of 2 years experience with the bachelor degree as the basic qualification.
Now coming on the other varieties; the first one will come auxiliary nurse & midwife which require a higher secondary degree as required qualification. The percentage required is 40% and it is a 2 years course. General nursing & midwifery is another nursing course which require three and half years as the course duration. Degree and percentage required are a higher secondary degree with 40% marks.

With all the courses in technology, management and general studies the nursing colleges also offer Ph.D. degree to the post graduate students. Indian nursing council is regulating all the nursing universities and courses. It is a governing body under the ministry of health and welfare. The act has been included in Indian constitution in later days.
